ACADEMY F6F-5 HELLCAT

This is model was built in the markings of the 10 000th Hellcat ever built, it came out of Grumman's factory with these special markings and then was assigned to the USS Ticonderoga in 1945.

The kit was painted with Ak Real colors, Gunze and Mig acrylics and weathered with Tamiya enamel washes and weathering powders.

Eduard Photo-Etched used for the cockpit and engine.

The resin pilot is from PJ productions.

The decals are from Illiads' millestones decal sheet. 

*Note on Illiad decals: they are very thin and tend to break a lot.
