Disclaimer: Please note that machines, such as aircraft, have nothing to do with politics. I chose to build this aircraft because it looks great and IMHO it's one of the prettiest twin engine aircraft of WW2.
My first finished aircraft of the year, is Zvezda's Pe-2, which I found to be a great kit, it fits well, has lots of interior detail and the surface is good with nice fine panel lines. It took me about 4 months to build it, but that's because I've been very busy at university, it would probably take about 2-3 weeks otherwise.
Some accessories used on the kit was some Eduard PE, for the interior and Quickboost exhausts, but it honestly didn't need much, the interior is very good and complete, it even comes with very nicely molded figures, which I didn't use but will keep for future projects.
I also did one scratch-built addition which was the wing landing light, instead of using the kit part, I added a small adhesive clear rhinestone to simulate the bulb and to make the glass I used a piece of clear tape.
The painting was done, as per usual with AK Real Colors and Tamiya acrylics. For the weathering I used Abteilung 502 oils.
I'm also using this post to thank all the members at IPMS Rutland for taking us in and making us feel very welcome, we really appreciate it, and always have a wonderful time.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and Happy modelling!
Anna
Ps: I'm hoping to post more content at smaller and regular intervals, Dad (Marco) just finished a kit, I'll keep it as a surprise, and hopefully we'll have it up in the site before the end of the month.
