I've been a fan of the Star Wars films since I was 5 years old when I watch all 6 films (there were only 6 at the time); I always loved the design of ships like the Millenium Falcon or the X-Wing fighter, but I've always been intrigued by Darth Vader's ship, a modified Tie Fighter only seen in Episode IV, A New Hope. Unlike the standard Tie, this one comes with a Hyperdrive, shields, heavier fire-power, greater speed
Bandai kits are really fun to build, they don't require glue, but I find that for some joints it is more prudent to apply some just in case. Their kits have great detail and and the parts fit together really well.
I painted my model with AK Real Colors acrylics and weathered it with Tamiya enamel washes.
I didn't weather my model too much because this particular Tie fighter is supposed to be a prototype and hence hasn't seen a lot of action!
The base comes with the kit, I just painted and weathered it.
May the force be with you, and keep modelling!!!
